    Program Descriptions

    Advanced Manufacturing  - Available: Week 2,3

    Explore the world of advanced manufacturing. Learn about the various machines and how they operate, learn to use basic computer-aided design and manufacturing software to create digital designs, and produce a variety of fun pieces and projects.

    Auto Body Repair - Available: Week 1

    Step into the garage and begin learning the basics of collision repair. Participate in many exciting, hands-on activities, such as repairing dents, welding, and using a plasma cutter! You can also design and custom paint a license plate to take home!

     

    Baking FUNdamentals  - Available: Weeks 1,2,3

    Learn how to bake cookies, pastries, breads and pizza in an industrial kitchen. Treat your family to a special snack each evening when you take home your delicious baked goods to share!

    Baseball Skills - Available: Week 1

    Step up to the plate and swing for success! Learn how to throw, catch, hit, and run the bases while building your skills and confidence. Learn how to play one of America’s favorite pastimes while participating in live skills training and friendly competition outside all week on Pathfinder Tech’s newly refinished clay 60' softball field.

    Basketball Skills - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Dribble, pass, shoot, and swish! Enjoy the game invented right here in Western Mass! Develop and refine your game while learning the skills needed to play one of America’s favorite activities. Through hands-on drills and team play, you’ll build confidence, improve teamwork, sharpen your skills, and have fun every day. Build confidence, improve teamwork, and take your game to the next level!

    Beauty School  - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Immerse yourself in the world of beauty and learn the latest in hair, skin, and nailcare using cosmetology tools like blow dryers, curling irons, and rollers.

    Custom Kicks & Courts - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Custom Kicks & Courts Camp is a hands-on art program designed to engage students through high-interest, contemporary art forms. This camp will combine custom sneaker painting, sports ball painting, and other activities to promote creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development. Participants will need to provide a pair of sneakers (white, leather, in new condition).

    Cookie Creations - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Learn how to make unique and delicious cookies while expressing yourself creatively through the art of cookie decorating. Don’t miss out on this delicious opportunity where you get to bring home your cookie creations to share with your family!

    Dig, Design & Grow - Available: Week 1, 2

    Get your hands in the soil and discover how plants grow! You will get a hands-on introduction to the world of horticulture through activities in the greenhouse, gardens, athletic fields, and horticulture workspace. You will plant vegetables, learn basic lawn and turf care, and try simple landscaping projects while exploring how plants are grown and maintained in real settings. Gain an early introduction to gardening skills, outdoor responsibility, and the science behind healthy plants. Perfect for curious learners who enjoy working outdoors and creating with nature.

    Drama/Theatre - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Students will receive instruction on the basics of theater, beginning with stage directions and terms. We will then learn movement and diction exercises that will help us to hear and be heard. Finally, we'll put all our skills together as we stage a small skit!

    First Responders - Available: Week 1, 2, 3

    Discover what it takes to become a first responder! Meet real first responders from local police, fire, ambulance, K9 units, and more. Hear about what they do and see the equipment they use. You will also participate in hands-on activities that showcase some of this equipment! Students will be around police, fire, and ambulance vehicles using lights, sirens, and equipment. Activities take place both indoors and outdoors. Please come prepared with appropriate clothing and items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, a water bottle, and weather-appropriate gear (jackets, hats, etc.).

    Fishing 101 - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Come fish with us! Learn the basics, like identification, habitat, fish species, lures/bait, knots, equipment, and casting. Students will compete in casting competitions for prizes and get a chance to try out their skills with some field trips to local watering holes.

    Fun With Art  - Available: Week 1

    Come relax in our beautiful studio and have fun making art using various mediums (such as paint, chalk, and clay) and unique materials to allow your creativity to flourish! Take home your masterpieces to display in your own art gallery at home.

    Junior Chef - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Try the fine art of food preparation! Learn to make homestyle meals such as meatballs, fresh pasta, churros, empanadas, and more! The program focuses on cooking techniques, reading recipes, and how to work in a clean and sanitary kitchen. Take home the items you create to share with your family!

    Kid Cafe - Available: Week 1,2,3 

    Learn what it's like to run your own cafe! From idea generation, to opening day, have fun creating and testing out menu items, collecting survey data, packaging food, creating advertising, learning menu software, and developing customer service and cash handling skills. This fun and engaging experience is designed to help participants express their curiosity with food preparation and service.

    Make Code Arcade - Available: Week 1,2

    Create your own video game and play it on a handheld device! You will learn how to create characters, design a scoring system, set up challenges and obstacles, animate and make sound effects, and create power-ups and levels. Participants will also have the opportunity to make a 3D print or two.

    Robotics BattleShop - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Immerse yourself in the engaging world of robotics! Develop the skills to design, construct, and operate your very own battle robot, then compete with other students throughout the week to see who will be victorious during the BattleShop Tournament!

    Woodworking - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Join us for a fun filled class in woodworking! Learn beginner carpentry skills, use basic hand tools, refine your math skills through reading a tape measure and converting fractions, and build a custom woodworking project you can take home and proudly show off or gift to your family.

    Young Beat-Makers: Electonic Music - Available: Week 3

    Create your own hip hop and electronic beats in this hands-on camp using a Chromebook-based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)! Students will learn the basics of rhythm, loops, sampling, and song structure while building and mixing original tracks. No experience needed. Just bring your creativity and get ready to make music!

    Young Rockstars: Guitars & Ukuleles - Available: Week 2

    Students will learn the basics of guitar and ukulele, including chords, strumming patterns, and simple songs, while building confidence through hands-on practice. Campers will also be introduced to TAB (tablature), an easy-to-learn music notation designed for string instruments. Through fun activities and group jam sessions, students will develop foundational skills. No experience needed!

    Young Virtuosos: Recorders & Percussion - Available: Week 1

    Students explore music literacy and performance using recorders and percussion instruments while learning rhythm, note reading, and basic melodies. Through fun, hands-on activities and group play, campers build confidence and creativity. No experience needed!

     Zany Science - Available: Week 1,2,3

    Become a junior scientist for the week and explore the wacky world of science! Participate in a different hands-on science experiment every day while having fun, getting messy, and learning about the science methods.

  • SUMMER PROGRAM POLICY INFORMATION

  • Refund and Withdrawl Policies

    If you wish to withdraw from the Pathfinder Tech 2025 Summer Youth Enrichment Program prior to the start date and receive a full tuition refund (minus the $30 non-refundable registration fee), you must notify Pathfinder Tech in writing on or before Friday, June 13th. No refunds will be issued after that date.

     

  • BASIC RULES OF SAFE CONDUCT

    Students are expected to behave in an orderly and respectful manner at all times. Behavior must take into account the rights of others as well as the effective operation of the school. Students are financially responsible for loss or damage of school property. Bullying/harassment is not tolerated.

     

    RELEASES


    FIELD TRIP PERMISSION:
    If the program my child is enrolled in has field trips, my child has permission to participate in those scheduled Pathfinder Tech Summer Youth Enrichment Program field trips. I give permission for my child to attend these trips either walking or by school van or school minibus with the Pathfinder Tech Summer Youth Enrichment Program.

    WALKING PERMISSION:
    Occasionally we will be taking off-site excursions for exercise and to explore the surrounding area. I give my child permission to go on off-site walks with the Pathfinder Tech Summer Youth Enrichment Program.

    PERMISSION TO PARTICIPATE:

    I give my child permission to participate in all of the activities offered in the Pathfinder Tech Summer Youth Enrichment Program. I do not in any way hold this organization responsible for any injury incurred during the program. I understand that substitutions may be made in the program activity schedule due to unforeseen circumstances, and that my child may be removed from the program if they fail to comply with the basic rules of safe conduct and courtesy to all participants and staff. 

    FIRST AID TREATMENT:

    I give permission for the staff of the Pathfinder Tech Summer Youth Enrichment Program to provide simple first aid treatment to my child when necessary. In the event of a more serious illness or injury, I give permission for my child to be transported to the nearest hospital or other emergency medical facility to receive emergency medical treatment. I also authorize ambulance/rescue squad attendants to administer such treatment as is medically necessary, and I authorize licensed health practitioners working at the hospital or emergency medical facility to examine and provide emergency medical treatment to my child if warranted. I understand that I will be contacted by the Pathfinder Tech Summer Youth Enrichment Program personnel as soon as possible regarding any emergency involving my child.

    *Please note that there might be an overlap in registrants signing up for the same sessions.  In the event that you signed up for and were charged for a session, but your first through third choices are full, you will be notified with the programs that have availability.  If you do not wish for your child to be placed into any programs other than the ones you selected, then you will receive a full refund.*

     

    **IMPORTANT** If you are having issues with the payment field populating, try selecting a different option for "How many weeks will your child be attending," then go back and click the original selection you wanted.  You should then see the amount populate and you will be able to proceed to checkout.
